Galway City Museum & Spanish Arch

Located beside the river Corrib across from the Claddagh this museum offers lots to the visitor. Beside the museum is the Spanish Arch was built in 1584 and stands adjacent to part of the old city walls.

Galway Cathedral

Situated close to the University on the banks of the Corrib this Cathedral was dedicated in 1965 and built on the grounds of the former city prison.

 

Old Medieval Galway

Take a walk around the city and you will see remains of Galway's history in its buildings such as the Hall of the Red Earl, St Nicholas's Church, Lynch's Castle and restored parts of the original city walls.
